There are steps on the jetty and on board, so the vessel isn’t wheelchair accessible. Prams and strollers are welcome, and our crew is happy to lend a hand with boarding and help you find a comfy seat. If you have specific mobility needs, get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Lake Wakatipu is generally well-sheltered and cruises operate in most weather conditions. In the event of severe weather or unsafe lake conditions, we’ll contact you to rebook or refund. We’ll always give you as much notice as possible.

The TSS Earnslaw is a large heritage steamship that carries several hundred passengers and includes a farm visit as part of its experience. The Million Dollar Cruise is a smaller, more intimate cruise – focused entirely on the lake scenery, with a personal skipper, smaller group sizes, and a more relaxed pace. It’s a different kind of experience rather than a direct comparison.
Can I get good photos on the cruise?
Absolutely! This is one of the most photographed experiences in Queenstown for good reason. The views from the water are genuinely hard to match anywhere else in town, and guests are welcome up to the bow for an unobstructed shot of the Remarkables, the lake, and the skyline. Is parking available near the departure point?
There is paid public parking available in central Queenstown, within walking distance of the Main Queenstown Jetty. We recommend allowing extra time during busy periods.
